The eduroam (education roaming) service, developed for the international research and education community, is a secure, worldwide wireless network admission organization that allows students, faculty, and staff from participating institutions to admission the Net when visiting other participating institutions. With eduroam, you can connect to the network at other member institutions using your MSU credentials (netid@msstate.edu & NetPassword). Wireless network connectivity is available across the bulk of campus buildings and many outdoor areas.

How do I connect?

All currently enrolled students and active employees should exist able to log in and use the eduroam network on their computers, smartphones, and tablets using their netid@msstate.edu email address and NetPassword. See below for device-specific instructions. Alternatively, there is another method for connecting to eduroam using the eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool) which provides a custom installer configured specifically for MSU. Instructions for using this method to connect can be institute in the eduroam CAT (Configuration Assistant Tool) category or under the Related Manufactures section on this folio.

What if I am non an enrolled student or agile employee?

ITS provides a invitee wireless connexion for visitors and guests on campus with the msuguest network. This is a restricted network and does not accept admission to all campus resources. This password is changed daily and is only available for full-time employees and other specific users (look up the current password at its.msstate.edu/msuguest). The password is also available at the Guest Services desk at the Colvard Student Matrimony and the coffee shop at Barnes and Noble.

What if my device does non support connecting to eduroam?

For devices that are unable to employ the eduroam network, ITS provides the msu3 network. This would include game consoles (Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo systems), smart speaker systems (Amazon Alexa), e-Readers (some Kindles, Nook), and smart TVs/streaming devices (AppleTV, Roku, Amazon Firestick, etc.).  Please note that your mobile device will need to be on the same network (msu3) in gild to communicate with the other device. Also, non all devices are guaranteed to work with this network, only well-nigh practice. Meet the article below for instructions on connecting to msu3.
