Contest Date and Venue: The Primal WA Regional History Day Contest will be held on Saturday, March five, 2022 at Davis Loftier School in Yakima.

Davis High School is located on the west side of downtown Yakima, betwixt Tieton Drive and Walnut Street at 6th Avenue.

This is the home page for the Primal Washington Region History Day Competition. National History Day is a fun and challenging event that encourages students to get historians past developing inquiry, analysis, presentation, and social skills. Working individually or in groups, Junior Sectionalization (grades six-8) and Senior Division (gardes nine-12) students select a topic related to an annual theme. The 2022 NHD theme is Argue & Diplomacy In History: Successes, Failures, Consequences. Students conduct extensive historical enquiry using chief and secondary sources . . . and then distill their enquiry and assay into i of five presentations: a dramatic performance, a multimedia documentary, a museum showroom, website, or historical research paper.

Eight regional contests are held around Washington Land in February and March. Students may choose to compete by entering their project against others in the same division and category. Regional winners advance to the Washington History 24-hour interval State Competition, held in tardily April or early May. Students who finish in commencement or second identify at the WA State contest in each category authorize for the National Contest, held in June, 2022, at the University of Maryland in College Park.

The Central WA Contest generally serves the post-obit counties: Benton, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, and Yakima.
